MNT's Vision

The society's vision is to develop MNT e.V. so as to become a globally competitive Thuringian cluster.  It is intended to actively promote the development of this branch of industry and to increase the awareness level and acceptance of the cluster so as to ensure that micro and nanotechnology, similar to the technological fields of "automotive", "optical" and "solar industry" technologies, become firmly associated with the Thuringian location in the same way as the region of Besançon in France, for example.

The work of the Mikrotechnik Thüringen e.V. society serves to pool competences of various players, both, along the technological value-added chain and from different sectors and disciplines for the purpose of developing and implementing sustainable growth concepts in the field of micro systems technology.

MNT e.V.'s guiding principle consists in expanding activities from micro technology to nanotechnology.  This corresponds to a new quality of the technological orientation.  Micro systems technology and nanotechnology are planned to be established in Thuringia as sunrise industries having an impact on nearly all economic sectors and even beyond the technology triangle of Erfurt-Ilmenau-Jena.
